Tyro Christian Church exists for a unique purpose: We believe we have a responsibility to represent the Church found in the New Testament. After years of denominations establishing their own rules aside from the Bible, a group of preachers from several denominational backgrounds got together about 1800 to "restore" the New Testament Church back to it original Biblical blueprint. From those humble and committed believers was launched a fellowship of Christians who:

...	wanted to wear the name "Christian" only (no other human or denominational names were needed).
...	believe, practice and preach the Bible only (no other human creeds or man-made doctrines allowed).

We pay particular attention to how people in the New Testament responded when accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior. With all the confusion over how to accept Christ in the religious world today, we believe we are safe in God's Will by going back and following what they did in the New Testament. We would challenge you to read the book of Acts and see what people were told to do when accepting Jesus as their Savior. (Example: Acts 2 : 36-40 says;)

36 Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly, that God hath made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom ye crucified.

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what shall we do?

38 And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

39 For to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call unto him.

40 And with many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, Save yourselves from this crooked generation. (NASV)

Our purpose today is not to be one more religious group trying to win people to our way of thinking, but to represent the Church found in the New Testament and win people only to Jesus!

We do not believe that we are the only Christians, but we do want to be Christians only.
